Hector “DJ Hects” Legaspi, 42, Ontario resident, beloved by the DJ community and fans across the Inland Empire, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at San Antonio Regional Hospital.

DJ Hects was a renowned talent who brought life to major venues in Los Angeles, Pomona, the Inland Empire, and Las Vegas. His artistry extended to the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he proudly mixed music during regular-season games and their victorious World Series runs.

Born in Los Angeles to Hector Legaspi and MaryAnn Alcala, Hects discovered his passion for music at an early age.  He began his DJ career at just 13 years old. Over the years, he transformed his love for music into a successful career, becoming a celebrated figure who brought joy to family gatherings, public events, and iconic celebrations.

Beyond the music, Hects was a mentor and inspiration in the Boyle Heights community. He empowered youth to follow their passions, using music as a catalyst to build confidence and self-esteem. His efforts left a lasting impact on students, teachers, and the broader community.

A public celebration of his life will be held at the legendary Fox Theatre in Pomona, a venue that symbolizes his deep connection to music and community.

Known affectionately to his family as “Boy Boy,” Hects will be remembered for his artistry, humor, and the profound inspiration he brought to the DJ community and all who knew him. His legacy will live on in the music he shared and the lives he touched.
